2. Joshua Esch Mitchell Aviation Scholarship

Eligibility for Joshua Esch Mitchell Aviation scholarship is based on the following; candidates must be United States citizens, enrolled full- or part-time at a college or university in the United States providing an accredited flight science curriculum.

Applicants must be second-year students or above or a first-year student graduating from West Michigan Aviation Academy with a minimum 2.75 GPA pursuing undergraduate studies in the field of professional pilot with an emphasis in general aviation, Aviation Management, or Aviation Safety. A valid pilot’s certificate (not to include a Student Certificate) is required.

Be a high school senior, a resident of Michigan, and a U.S. Citizen at the time of application.
Have at least a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) based on a 4.0 scale, for the sophomore (10th grade) and junior (11th grade) years in high school.
Submit a list of current classes being taken as a senior (12th grade).
Provide an official high school transcript and SAT test score.
Write and submit an essay (typewritten, min. 11 point font) of 250 words on “How I was influenced to pursue an engineering career.”
Complete an application for free student membership in MSPE/NSPE.

5. Horizons-Michigan Scholarship

This scholarship for residents in Michigan is to encourage women to pursue careers related to the national security and defense interests of the United States, and to provide development opportunities to women already working in these fields.
