International Scholarships at the University of Adelaide, 2022-2023: Applications for the Adelaide Scholarships International in 2022 are now open. (ASI).

Masters and PhD students from all over the world can apply for international scholarships at the University of Adelaide.

Each year, a number of scholarships are awarded to students who have excelled academically.

Applying for the Adelaide Scholarships International (ASI) is simple as long as you meet the eligibility requirements.

Before applying for scholarships, interested parties should read the scholarship eligibility rules carefully.

International Scholarships in Adelaide Requirements

To be eligible for a University of Adelaide International Scholarship, you must meet the following requirements:

  • To be considered, applicants must have earned at least the equivalent of an Australian First Class Honours degree (this is a four-year degree with a major research project in the final year). All approved programs of study must be successfully completed.
  • Scholarships will be awarded based on academic excellence and research potential. Extracurricular achievements are not taken into consideration.
  • International applicants must not hold a research qualification deemed equivalent to or higher than an Australian Research Doctorate degree by the University of Adelaide, or a research qualification deemed equivalent to or higher than an Australian Research Master’s degree by the University of Adelaide if pursuing a Research Master’s degree by the University of Adelaide.
  • International applicants who have not submitted proof of meeting the minimum English language proficiency standards for direct admission by the scholarship deadline, or who have completed a Pre-Enrolment English Program to meet the entry requirements for the proposed program of study, are ineligible.
  • Those that do research through a remote candidacy are rejected.
  • Candidates must enroll at the University of Adelaide as “international students” and maintain that status for the duration of their study.
  • If an overseas applicant has already begun the degree for which they are applying, they will be ineligible unless they can show that they were unable to apply during the previous cycle.
  • Scholarship recipients must commence their studies at the University of Adelaide in the semester in which they are awarded the scholarship.
  • Applicants who applied and qualified for consideration in an international scholarship round but were not chosen will be automatically considered in the next international scholarship round if they have a valid offer of candidacy for that intake.
  • If a student has not received another award from the Commonwealth of Australia, the University of Adelaide, or an overseas sponsor, they may be eligible for a scholarship from the Commonwealth of Australia, the University of Adelaide, or an overseas sponsor.

Benefits

The following services are provided by Adelaide Scholarships International (ASI):

  • Tuition costs for a two-year Master’s degree by research and a three-year Doctoral research degree (an extension is possible for doctoral programs only),
  • An annual living allowance of $28,854 (2022 rate, modified yearly) is paid for two years for a Master’s degree by research and three years for a Doctoral research degree (an extension is allowed for doctoral programs only), and
  • For Postgraduate Research (Subclass 574) visa holders, the grant provides regular Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Worldcare coverage for the student, their spouse, and their dependents (if any) for the duration of the student visa.

International and domestic students must submit a formal application for admission and a scholarship using the online application system. There is no charge for submitting an application. The processes below can be followed by both international and domestic students to apply;

Please note that until a formal application is completed and examined, the University of Adelaide will not be able to consider your eligibility for candidacy and/or a scholarship.
